US President Donald Trump sparked controversy after he stole a gavel made of solid gold following a Peace Council meeting attended by Arab and foreign officials and diplomats.
In the video, Trump is seen striking the gavel to signal the end of the meeting. He then shakes hands with his Vice President, JD Vance, while holding the gavel in his other hand, saying, "I think we'll take it with us."
To the tune of YMCA, a song frequently played at Trump's campaign rallies and dinners, the US president shook hands with the heads of state whose countries are members of the council, still holding the gavel.
One person commented sarcastically, "Trump is a thief! Today at the Peace Council, Trump noticed the gavel was solid gold, so he stole it live on air and took it to the plane. Even though the presidents warned him, he pretended not to understand."
One person wrote, "President Trump didn't leave the golden gavel behind when he left; he took it with him! Pure gold is something you can't miss."
