Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan is the apex national body to promote Higher Education in the country by ensuring quality, standards, and equitable access. HEC is responsible for formulating higher education policy, quality assurance to meet international standards, providing accreditation of academic degrees, the development of new institutions and the uplift of existing

institutions in Pakistan

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The applicant shall:

1. Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in the field of Higher Education with

at least 10 years of post Ph.D experience.

2. Have a distinguished portfolio of research publications.

3. Be a person of international eminence with academic and administrative

experience in Higher Education.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is seeking a distinguished person of

international eminence with extensive experience in the field of Higher

Education. The candidate must be well-versed in academics, research,

administration/management, policy formulation, have experience of teaching at

a prestigious University(ies) and have proven leadership qualities. The candidate

must be a self-driven, committed and highly professional person to ensure

achievement of the goals set by the Government for Higher Education.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

The Chairperson HEC shall be appointed by the Prime Minister for a period of 02

years, extendable for one more similar term as provided under law and will be

entitled to draw "Chairperson HEC Salary Package" as approved by the controlling

authority.

APPLICATION

Appropriately experienced candidates may submit applications by attaching:

• A detailed CV which must highlight areas of excellence and prominent

accomplishments, achievements, awards and publications.

• Names of confidential referees (05 in number, from immediate supervisors,

peers and those who reported to the applicant).

• Copies of testimonials, experience certificates and any other documentary

proof of accomplishments.

• A written statement (not more than 1,000 words) which addresses the

question: "Why do you wish to apply & why do you think you are qualified for this post?".

• A passport sized picture.

at the National Job Portal (www.njp.gov.pk) on or before 10th September, 2025.

Those already in Government / Semi Government service are required to apply

through proper channel. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview for which no TA/DA will be admissible.
