A dangerous escalation has occurred between Russia and Europe after Moscow threatened to destroy NATO. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, stated that NATO is Russia's enemy and should be treated as such.

Medvedev wrote in English on his X website: “NATO cheered the cancellation of the Russia-NATO Council. I must admit I share their joy. NATO is our enemy. What ‘council’ are we talking about? There is only one way to deal with enemies. As Maxim Gorky said, ‘If the enemy does not surrender, he will be destroyed.’”

Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine’s European allies on Tuesday of sabotaging US-led efforts to end the war, which have gained momentum in recent weeks.

“They have no peace agenda; they are on the side of war,” Putin said after speaking at an investment forum and before holding talks with a US delegation led by envoy Steve Witkopf and US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, at the Kremlin.

Putin Attacks Europe

Ahead of his scheduled meeting with the Americans, Putin’s accusations appeared to be his last-ditch effort to sow discord between Trump and European countries and pave the way for Moscow to be absolved of blame for any shortcomings in Progress.
